Our Story

Oak North is dedicated to providing quality supplemental education service to all students, from K–12 to college and university. Our founder, Mr. Man, has been in the industry for more than twenty years. He is a passionate educator with vast experiences in the field of education. Our motto, “We teach, we care”, is simple yet powerful. Kids are our future, and we endeavor to give them the best in achieving their goals.

Our People

Billy Man, Principal

Mr Man is the founder and Principal of Oak North. Mr Man has vast experience in after–school tutorial and international education consulting. He was the Principal of an after–school tutorial center for 20 years before founding Oak North. His area of expertise also covers international academic consulting. He has sent numerous students to various public school, private schools and post–secondary institutions in Canada and the UK and has built an superb working relationships with the schools. Mr Man started his education career at RSQ, one of the most prominent after–school tutorial education providers. He taught English and various science subjects besides his administrative duties as the Principal. Mr Man obtained his BSEE from Purdue University, Indiana, one of the top engineering schools in the USA. He worked as a software engineer in Silicon Valley after graduation. He was a key contributor to the development of Octopus, a smart card system for transit systems.

Mr Man is an outstanding teacher and academic consultant. He achieved the highest banding in Cambridge University ESOL Teaching Knowledge Test. He also studied English at the University of Edinburgh. He is an ICEF Trained Agent Counsellor (ITAC 1524) and a CCG of Languages Canada and CAPS–I (CCG 01383).

Our People

Mr. MacKay

Mr. MacKay holds a BA in political science and a B.Ed in education as well as a Canadian TESOL (teaching English as a second language) national certificate. He is also a certified engineering technician and a graduate of Holland college. As a result, he has a wide range of experience and has successfully supported many adults who have established their own businesses.

Our Belief

We believe that every child is unique. Yet the one–size–fits–all approach in schools may not be the best for every student. With our small class sizes and attention toward each individual student, all students can ignite or re–ignite their love for learning. We teach, we care and we help students reachor exceed their full potential.

Our Method

We are student–focused and results–orientated. That means we develop our courses and approach for each individual student. Our courses aim at serving their education needs, whether they are school assignments, public exams or individual achievement goals. We prepare the students for the challenges, boost their study skills and enable them to believe in themselves.
